How to Get to  Monastir

Below you will find information on how to reach  Monastir  from various points of arrival.

By Air

The nearest airport is Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport (MIR), which is approximately 10 kilometers from the Faculty of Sciences. Taxis and airport shuttles are available at the airport to take you directly to the hotel or the university. The journey typically takes about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.

You can also fly into Tunis-Carthage International Airport (TUN), which is about 180 kilometers from Monastir. From Tunis-Carthage International Airport, you have several options to reach Monastir:

• By Taxi: A taxi ride from Tunis Airport to Station Louage Moncef Bey and then to Monastir (approximately 2 hours).
• By Train: Take a taxi or shuttle to train station "La place de Barcelone" and board a train to Monastir. The train journey takes around 2 hours.

By Train

Monastir is well connected by train. If you arrive in Tunis, the capital city, you can take a train from train station "La place de Barcelone" to Monastir. The train journey takes around 2 hours. Once you arrive at Monastir Train Station, you can take a taxi.

By Car

If you are driving, Monastir is accessible via the A1 motorway from Tunis. Follow the signs towards Monastir and take the exit towards the city center. 

Local Transportation

Within Monastir, you can use taxis or local buses to get around. Taxis are relatively inexpensive and can be hailed on the street or booked in advance. Local buses are also available.
